Working with Engine Developments since 2024, Open Power handles export payments, receives site data and coordinates metering access.
Engine Developments: Export support beyond the contract
Engine Developments has worked with Open Power since 2024. For its Leigh Road site, the relationship combines export contracting with ongoing customer payments, receipt of site data and support when metering requirements need attention.
At a glance
- Working together since 2024 - Solar export support for the Leigh Road site in Rugby
- Customer payments handled - Ongoing payment administration under the active 2026 agreement
- Meter access approved - Owner’s permission obtained following the meter operator’s request
A relationship across successive agreements
The earlier export agreement was signed in November 2024, with a contractual start date the following month. The relationship has continued into a further agreement for 2026.
Throughout the current arrangement, Open Power remains involved in the work that follows signing: making payments to Engine Developments, receiving the site’s data and responding to requests involving its export arrangements.
What Open Power handles
- Customer payments: Making export payments as part of the ongoing commercial arrangement.
- Site data: Receiving the data associated with the site’s export service.
- Metering coordination: Liaising with the meter operator and owner when access to the site is required.
Putting ongoing support into practice
When the site’s Meter Operator (MOP) requested a visit to inspect the meter, it contacted Open Power. The request needed the owner’s permission before access could be arranged.
Open Power contacted the owner and obtained approval for the meter operator to attend. It handled the communication needed to resolve that access requirement alongside its continuing payment and data responsibilities.
An export contact beyond signing
For Engine Developments, this means an established point of contact for both commercial administration and practical site requests. The meter operator could bring its request to Open Power, which took it to the owner for approval.
The relationship established in 2024 remains active under the 2026 agreement. Customer payments and data receipt continue, with permission secured for the requested meter visit.
